Curtains and Drapes for Events & Production
Drapes and curtains are traditionally associated with theatres and concert halls, however, they can completely transform your event’s venue and play an important part in a production. From front-of-house curtains to backdrops, we can provide you with a solution that enhances the set and leaves the audience in awe.
How we can help?
When it comes to events and productions on tour, the use of, for example, curtains, scenic backdrops, floor cloths, and cyclorama are crucial for setting the stage and creating a captivating visual experience for your audience. Whether it’s a trade show, exhibition, or gallery opening, these elements can transform any space and create a specific atmosphere that enhances the overall impact of the event. Here are some ways we can help:
Tours
Our experience in providing high-quality solutions extends from the school halls to X-Factor stages, and with over twenty years under our belt, you can be confident that we can provide the right drape solution for you. The staging and set of a performance is an important part of the planning stage before going on tour. Mixed with lighting and the right acoustics, it becomes an immersive experience for the fans who have travelled to see their favourite band or artist.
Backdrops and panels made from a heavy stage fabric such as Cotton Velvet Velour or Stage Felt are perfect for dampening sound, to create the right ambience for your performance. These can be manufactured in a variety of colours to suit your performance space and style.
To create a stunning effect, we also recommend our Gauze Backdrop from our Stage Curtain service. Its light transforming properties can leave your audience mesmerised and fully absorbed in the atmosphere. To see it in action, take a look at our Will.i.am case study who hung our laser gauze in an unconventional way.
Exhibitions
The customisation is key for our customers, which is one of the reasons why we’re known as one of the leading manufactures of theatre drapes and stage curtains. Planning and preparing for a one-off event or exhibition can be a timely task, especially when it comes to the finer details. From table skirting to booth panels, we can work with you to meet your specifications.
One service that is ideal for exhibitions is our backdrop service. Cycloramas are made from a seamless fabric and can span the width of a venue. They can create the illusion of depth to add an artistic effect to your show or be projected onto. Another solution that favours exhibitions is our Scenic Backdrops. Their lightweight properties make them easy to hang and can transform a plain space into something remarkable.
Studios
When setting up a studio, it’s integral that there is the right balance of light and sound, especially for photo shoots or television performances. It can help connect your audience to the setting and save both time and money in the post-production period.
Television Studios were first set up with drapes for backgrounds, but these were soon replaced with Cycloramas due to their seam free appearance. They’re easy to hang, making them an ideal backdrop to your studio, and can be projected onto. These are also suited to photography studios for all the same reasons and can be easily packed away if you move around studios.
Although drapes aren’t usually used as backdrops anymore, they can isolate different spaces and separate off different sets. We recommend manufacturing these in Wool Serge due its light and sound absorbing properties. Black is a popular colour to frame the stage and hide equipment and wires, but we can also manufacture them in Chromakey Green which works alongside your green screens. We can also provide you with accessories such as storage bags, to prolong the lifespan of your drapes and keep them in pristine condition.
For photography studios, we can complete your solution with a made-to-measure floor cloth. These can protect the floor of the building you’re shooting in and line up with your backdrop for a continuous set. They are flame retardant to conform to industry standards, and are made from lightweight fabric, making them easy to transport from venue to venue.
