Seven-time Grammy award winner, Will.i.am, born William James Adams, is an American musician and entrepreneur. He is best known for his involvement in founding and front-manning hip hop band The Black Eyed Peas in 1997, who have sold over an astonishing 32 million albums and 58 singles worldwide. Alongside his involvement in The Black Eyed Peas, he’s also made a name for himself as a solo artist and producer working with some of the biggest artists in the world such as Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber and Britney Spears.
In 2016, Will.i.am celebrated music and technology by hosting two exclusive ‘ANeedA Night Out’ shows with friends at the Royal Albert Hall in May. They were to mark the launch of Dial, the tech venture from Will.i.am’s consumer technology brand i.am+. He was joined by other artists such as Tinie Tempah, Ricky Wilson and The Black Eyed Peas took to the stage to perform some of their classic hits.
At Whaleys, we provided them with a laser gauze curtain, which create a magnificent effect when projected onto. Gauze is a fabric that can transform a stage depending on what angle the light is projected onto. Lit from the front and the curtain is opaque, but when you light it up from behind the fabric becomes translucent which can create a stunning impact.
