Muziekgebouw Eindhoven

Whaleys Stages drapes travelled overseas in one of our projects. As the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, a world class music venue in the Netherlands, underwent a spectacular renovation to make it the music building of the future.

Since it’s opening in 1992, the Netherlands music venue, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven has grown from a regional concert hall to a world class setting. With over 160,000 visitors every year, the Muziekgebouw is renowned for classical music performance, with some of the very best orchestras and conductors taking to the stage.

In 2010, the building embarked on a renovation project to bring together light, design, technology and programming, making it the ultimate show hall.  They now offer a wide variety of shows in all music genres, including jazz and pop, with two concert halls that can house up to 1650 visitors at a time.

With so many guests attending shows every year, it’s important that the Muziekgebouw maintains its reputation in the industry, so as part of a refurbishment project.

At Whaleys, we manufactured bespoke black wool serge drapes for the venue to create the perfect atmosphere. Over a 300-day season, there are more than 280 concerts of a whole range of music genres, from pop to classical. To read more about this project, head to our case study page.

These not only prevent light from peeping through, but dampen the acoustic properties, creating that ultimate concert experience.
